Paterson Community Health Center (PCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides primary and preventative healthcare services. Located in the third largest city in New Jersey, PCHC is dedicated to making high-quality, affordable health care accessible to underserved and uninsured individuals living in Paterson and nearby Passaic County communities.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our mission driven organization. The CEO will serve as the most senior executive within the Paterson Community Health Center, reporting to the Board of Directors and assuming overall accountability for the Health Center’s operations, health programming, community engagement and partner development.

Servant Leadership: Lead our exceptional team in the implementation of a strategic vision that exemplifies the mission and values of Paterson Community Health Center.

Strategic Thinker: Develop and implement a strategic vision that supports innovation, organizational growth, programming and service expansion and funding development.

Operational Management: Provide oversight of the organization’s operations including Healthcare and Patient Services, Administration, Finance and Facilities, providing collaborative support to management leaders.

Financial Stewardship: Manage the organization’s budget, financial plan and resources in partnership with the Board to ensure fiscal viability.

Patient-Centered Program and Service Development: Leading the development, evaluation, and enhancement of impactful programs designed to respond to the specific needs of patients, ensuring quality patient centered culturally competent care.

Community Engagement: Serve as a good neighbor who listens, responds, acts and cares about people who live in Paterson, supporting community group efforts that address social determinants of health.

Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with local, state and federal government, healthcare organizations and other businesses to support patient advocacy concerns and grow collaborative opportunities.

Board Governance: Partner with the Board to fulfill the mission of the Center with transparency, information updates and recommendations for organization improvement, collaborating through the exchange of ideas, strategy, and policy development in a relationship of mutual support and respect.

Who you are and what you will bring:

  1. Minimum of 7 years senior-level management in healthcare, experience at a Federally Qualified Health Center is a preferred.
  2. A master’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, business administration, J.D. or an appropriate related field. A BS/BA degree with four years’ experience is required.
  3. Experience leading change management initiatives, building teams, resolving conflicts and developing a standard of excellence amongst employees.
  4. Proven record of federal grant management and experienced grant writer for the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) grants is preferred.
  5. Demonstrated policy and procedure development that reflects compliance with state and federal laws, standards, and regulations as applicable to Community Health Centers.
  6. Ability to prepare, present, and review oral, written, and electronic information, the ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, procedures, protocols, and patient services.
  7. Expertise in financial oversight and strategic development, to optimize resources and ensure fiscal sustainability.
  8. Experience with diverse cultural, racial, linguistic, and socioeconomic groups with a track record of promoting diversity and community collaboration.
  9.  Experience with data collection, analysis, data driven decision making and able to present research to educate and advocate on behalf of PCHC.
  10. Adept at communicating messages to diverse audiences in written and verbal formats.
